Welcome to PowerPix ("PowerPix," "we," "our," "us," or the "Promoter") and our website ("Website"). PowerPix offers a platform that enables a participant ("Participant," "you") to purchase tickets that provide access to an online game of "Spot the Ball" — a skill-based game that gives participants the chance to win a car and/or other prizes. The PowerPix services include operating the platform, the game, the competition, and all associated services (collectively the "Services").
By using this Website and the Services offered by us, you are agreeing to these legally binding Terms and Conditions (including the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy that can also be found on our Website) (collectively the "Terms"). Please read these Terms carefully, and should you have any enquiries, please contact us.
There may be legal notices on other areas of this Website which relate to your use of the Website and/or Services, all of which will, together with these Terms as amended from time to time, govern your use of this Website and Services. By accessing, browsing, using, or registering for our Services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms in their entirety. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you must not use this Website or any related Services.
Participants must meet the following criteria to qualify for entry into a PowerPix competition ("Competition"):
Participants found to be in violation of these eligibility criteria will be disqualified from any Competition, and any prizes awarded will be forfeited. PowerPix reserves the right to request proof of eligibility and to verify the identity and age of any Participant.
By entering a PowerPix Competition, the Participant warrants that they have legal capacity to do so, have read and understood these Terms, and will be bound by them and by any other requirements set out in any related promotional material.
These Competitions are governed by South African Law, and any matters relating to the Competition will be resolved under South African Law. The Courts of South Africa shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
If you participate in a Competition via the PowerPix Website, and by accepting these Terms, you confirm and warrant that you are not breaching any laws in South Africa regarding the legality of entering our Competitions. PowerPix will not be held responsible for any Participant entering any of our Competitions unlawfully. If in any doubt, you should immediately leave the Website and check with the relevant authorities.
Participants can enter the Competition by purchasing tickets and participating in the skill-based Spot the Ball game as outlined in the competition guidelines.
Availability and pricing of Competitions and tickets are at the discretion of the Promoter and will be specified at the point of sale.
Participants are responsible for ensuring they have read and understood the specific details and requirements associated with each Competition, including availability, pricing, and any additional terms communicated at the point of sale.
In order to enter a Competition, you will need to register an account with PowerPix ("PowerPix Account").
You have the option to change your username by logging into your account settings. If you create multiple accounts using different email addresses or Social Media Accounts, each username will be treated as a separate PowerPix Account.
A PowerPix Competition involves using your skill to select a pixel closest to that chosen by a panel of Judges in the skill-based Spot the Ball game.
Entries (tickets) for each Competition are subject to the following conditions:
Participants are responsible for monitoring their entries and ensuring compliance with the specified entry limits. Any breach of these limits may result in disqualification, voiding of orders, PowerPix Credits, or prize awards.
Details regarding the start and end dates of each Competition period ("Competition Period") will be specified by the Promoter on the Website. By purchasing a ticket and entering the Competition, you agree to these dates.
After each Competition concludes, the position of the centre of the ball will be determined by our independent panel of judges — experts in the field of football (soccer) appointed by PowerPix (the "Judges"). The Judges' determination of the position of the centre of the ball ("Judges' Position") will be made using their expertise, and the process is overseen by a qualified legal expert and a PowerPix representative.
Within forty-eight (48) hours of a Competition's end, the Judges' Position will be compared against the database of coordinates for that Competition. This mathematical process determines which valid and eligible entry is closest to the Judges' Position, thereby identifying the winning Participant (the "First Prize Winner"). The First Prize Winner is the person whose selected pixel is closest to the Judges' Position, or who exactly matches it.
Tie-Break Mechanism
In the event that two or more valid and eligible entries are equally close to, or exactly match, the Judges' Position, the following structured process will apply:
Step 1: Additional Entries Comparison
If all tied Participants have made two or more entries into the same Competition, all other entries made by each relevant Participant will be reviewed and ranked based on proximity to the Judges' Position. The Participant with the closest next-best entry will be provisionally placed in the lead. If this also results in a tie, the comparison will continue using each Participant's next closest entry, in descending order of proximity, until a clear winner emerges.
Step 2: Expert Review (Judges' Decision)
If the tie remains unresolved — either because all other entries have been exhausted or because Participants submitted only one entry — the tied entries will be reviewed again by the original Judges. The Judges will assess the image context (including body language, eyelines, posture, and sporting logic) and select the entry they believe most accurately reflects the correct coordinate. This decision will be made via a simple majority vote, and the Judges' decision at this stage is final and binding.
Step 3: Sudden Death Challenge
If the Judges are unable to agree during the expert review, all tied Participants will be invited to complete a new Spot the Ball challenge using a different image. This new image will be judged under the same terms as the original, with no further payment required. If a tie still results, the process may be repeated using new images until a single winner is determined. If a tied Participant cannot be reached within 72 hours of first contact, they will forfeit their place in the tie-break process.
At the sole discretion of PowerPix, tied entrants who do not ultimately win may be awarded a runner-up prize (explicitly not a vehicle) or PowerPix Credits as a token of recognition for reaching the final stage.
PowerPix takes the verification of winners ("Winners") seriously. To confirm their identity, age, and ownership or authorisation to use the payment method used for the purchase of tickets, Winners will be required to submit a copy of their South African Identity Document or passport to PowerPix before any prize is paid or delivered. Failure to fulfil these obligations may result in disqualification, and PowerPix reserves the right to choose an alternate winner.
In addition to verification requirements, all Winners will be asked to provide photographs and/or pose for photographs and videos. These media may be utilised in future marketing and public relations efforts by PowerPix. Winners have the right to refuse to do so.
After the Promoter receives and verifies the necessary details, Winners will be contacted to arrange delivery of the prize. Winners must choose from the available prizes as outlined in the Competition prize information on the PowerPix website. The chosen prize must be communicated to PowerPix in writing.
Surprise Contact Details: In your account settings, you have the option to add the contact details of an individual whom PowerPix can contact to assist with surprise arrangements if you are a Winner. PowerPix guarantees not to share or process these contact details for any other purpose without explicit consent.
Winners consent to the use of their name, image, and content related to receiving their prize for marketing and promotional purposes by the Promoter. Winners have the right to refuse to do so.
A Competition depicts various cars, but after each Competition Period only one principal prize will be awarded for each Competition ("First Prize"). Not all cars featured are given away at the end of each Competition Period — only the car linked to the ticket closest to the Judges' position, as determined above. Prizes other than the First Prize may also be awarded to runners-up at the sole discretion of the Promoter.
During a PowerPix Competition, if circumstances beyond PowerPix's control prevent the delivery of the stated First Prize, PowerPix reserves the right to award a substitute car of equal or greater value.
If the First Prize Winner chooses a car, an order will be placed by PowerPix. Delivery may take up to (or exceed) 12 months for certain cars, depending on availability from car dealers, and cars will be ordered in basic specification from South African dealers. Bespoke options and upgrades can be added at the First Prize Winner's request, but the cost of such options and upgrades must be paid in advance by the First Prize Winner.
The prize will be delivered with South African VAT paid. The maximum value that PowerPix will be liable to pay for or towards any First Prize is the South African Recommended Retail Price as advertised on our Website, and any amounts above that will be for the account of the First Prize Winner. PowerPix will only transact with manufacturer-recommended principal dealers.
For Competitions featuring vehicles within the "Classic Icons" range — a curated selection of collectible and iconic pre-owned cars — the prize shall be limited to sourcing a model reasonably equivalent to the one listed, with the total value not exceeding the Retail Price as advertised at the time of entry. Due to the nature of sourcing vintage vehicles, the specific car delivered may differ in exact specification.
Cash Alternative: If a Competition Winner prefers not to take delivery of one of the First Prizes, a Cash Alternative can be claimed. The Cash Alternative is 80% of the stated market value of the car(s), rounded to the nearest R1,000. The Cash Alternative will be paid to the winner within 6 months of election.
Runners-Up Prizes: Runners-Up may each be awarded other tangible items (explicitly not a vehicle) or PowerPix Credits at the discretion of the Promoter.
PowerPix Credits can be earned as stipulated by PowerPix on the Website from time to time, including but not limited to purchasing certain volumes of tickets, following and sharing social media pages as stipulated by PowerPix, and/or referring a friend to PowerPix.
No additional consideration is payable by you to PowerPix to earn Credits — you only have to comply with the requirements set by PowerPix on the Website from time to time.
PowerPix Credits do not expire and can be used to obtain discounts on ticket prices or access other benefits, as stipulated by PowerPix on the Website from time to time.
Subject to the right to refuse detailed above, acceptance of the prize by the Winner signifies their consent to undergo photographic and video documentation by PowerPix for promotional purposes, encompassing Public Relations and Marketing. This obligation extends to both immediate post-win documentation and potential future utilisation, subject to the provisions of the Privacy Policy.
By entering a PowerPix Competition, participants expressly agree to the utilisation of their name, address, and/or photographic or other likenesses for publicity events, without any additional compensation beyond reasonable travel expenses, subject to the provisions of the Privacy Policy.
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, the following limitations apply:
PowerPix shall not be held responsible for any failed, partial, or garbled computer transmissions, including malfunctions, failures, or connection issues related to computer, telephone, cable, network, electronic, or internet hardware or software. This includes acts or omissions of any service provider, internet accessibility issues, and instances of traffic congestion or unauthorised human acts such as errors or mistakes.
While PowerPix will make reasonable efforts to award the prize to the correct entrant, in cases where hardware, software, or other computer-related failures, or human errors result in the incorrect awarding of a prize, PowerPix reserves the right to reclaim the prize and award it to the correct entrant at its sole discretion, without admission of liability.
PowerPix reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to extend the closing date of any Competition if any aspect of the competition is disrupted due to factors beyond control — including computer virus infection, network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any cause that corrupts or impacts the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Competition. In cases where PowerPix closes a Competition early, the Winner may be selected from all valid and eligible entries received prior to the closure date. If a Competition is closed without selecting a Winner, PowerPix will provide all entrants with PowerPix Credits to allow them to replay equivalent tickets in a subsequent Competition.
Only the ticket coordinates recorded in our systems will be entered into the relevant Competition. PowerPix will not be held responsible for any Competition entries resulting from malfunctioning software or other events. Entrants can verify Competition coordinates at any time by accessing their account on the PowerPix website.
PowerPix places the utmost importance on the protection and proper usage of your personal data. Any personal data you provide to PowerPix will be dealt with as outlined in our Privacy Policy.
Winners are chosen by an independent judging panel, as outlined above in Section 7. Their decision is final and cannot be appealed. We will not re-open judging decisions once made. In the event of a technical or procedural error, PowerPix reserves the right to amend results at its sole discretion to reflect the correct outcome.
PowerPix reserves the right to disqualify any entrant or void any entry that, in its sole discretion, is suspected of breaching these Terms or manipulating the system. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:
Where fraudulent behaviour is identified, PowerPix may take further legal action and permanently restrict access to the platform.
PowerPix reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. In the event of a material change, notice will be provided via the website or through email. Continued participation following any amendment constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
The contact and other details of the Promoter are reflected in our Privacy Policy. Should you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us through the Website.
